Built on the site formerly occupied by the Stones Methodist Church School in Ripponden West Yorkshire the small development of four family houses is being built by Concept Design & Build and is constructed to exceed the building regulations up to the year 2016.
These two bedroom properties, owned by Teesdale Housing Association, in the North East of England were selected for the project in partnership with Community Energy Solutions (CES). The Bungalow was the first property to be trialled with the HeatKing air source heat pump in late 2008
Previously, Miss Goodwin had used electric storage heating with a Scottish Power Economy 7 tariff to heat her small house at the high cost of £20 per week. The housing association proposed improvements to the heating system of the home resulting in a reduction in heating bills from £80 per month to £18.70 per month.
The Piercebridge project is an installation of Air Source Heat Pumps in four semi-detached bungalows at Piercebridge in the North East of England. As the first installation of this kind to be undertaken by Darlington Borough Council the project was jointly funded by Community Energy Solutions (CES).
