The podcasts are being created by John Lightfoot, one of TEV Ltd’s Directors.
John explained, “When attending exhibitions targeted at the end user or householder, I became aware that many of the visitors would leave the exhibition totally confused as to what each of the renewable energy technologies would, or could, offer them. With one technology claiming to be better than other, how was the house holder able to determine who was telling the truth and who was spinning them a line? So I decided to create a series of podcasts on renewable energy aimed at the end users to try to give them some pointers. The podcasts take the form of an interview with a leading industry leader in each of the technologies. The interviews set out to explain to people in very basic terms, what the technologies are, how they work and how you can go about choosing equipment and installers. The interviews than signpost where more information can be found to help the end user’s decision making progress”
Indeed John has already published interviews with David Matthews the CEO of the Solar Trade Association, Tony Bowen the President of the Heat Pump Association, Andrew Cooper the Energy Saving Trusts’ Director of Policy and Advice for Humberside and Yorkshire.
The next podcast to be published in the near future will be a interview with Robert Burke and Mark Russell from HETAS on Biomass heating.
John has created a Renewable Energy Podcast website (www.renewableenergypodcast.co.uk) where his podcasts can be downloaded from and where listeners can leave feedback or questions for John to respond to.
