Commitment to the Environment

The environment is a high priority in our world today and TEV is actively committed to playing their part in conserving the World’s resources. In response to this commitment TEV gained the BS EN ISO 14001:2004 accreditation for the company in 2006. To view our environmental policy and quality and environmental certificates please click here.

As a company this gives assurance to all our customers that products for the TEV brands of Quartz, Marstair and HeatKing are manufactured using environmentally sustainable methods, methods that are continually being improved.

Energy efficiency is a key focus in all product development at TEV. One example of this is our Quartz range of chilled beam cassettes. These units use the fresh air flow momentum to recirculate room air across a cooling coil, negating the need for a fan which would require energy. Another example in the Quartz range is the new range of fan coils using DC fans which use approximately 50% of the power of standard AC fans. For HeatKing, the entire range of air source and ground source heat pumps is an alternative to traditional domestic heating systems and uses just 1kW of energy to provide 5kW of heating. The units are therefore energy efficient, use renewable energy and have much lower carbon emissions compared to traditional heating systems.

Recyclable materials and environmentally friendly packaging are replacing non-recyclable packing and expanded polystyrene is now no longer used in the company. In addition, some packaging used by delivered goods is now able to be reused as the main packing for the products.

Reducing waste and recycling has dramatically reduced and minimised the landfill waste for the company. Our company separate and recycle all plastic, wood, copper, aluminium, other metals, cardboard/paper, oil, batteries and capacitors to reduce landfill waste.

Reduced energy usage is a project currently underway for the company which will reduce factory energy usage by almost 20% and this is just one of a number of energy saving measures to be introduced in the next few years for the company.
